Default 6-Speed Swap

I bought a semi-complete kit from CL for a decent price. It has the tranny, rear diff, peddle cluster, slave cylinder, brake booster(not needed?) front and rear axles (only need the fronts) driveshaft and a new stage 3 clutch.

I had some issues trying to find the tranny part numbers. I know it is an 01E "D" model. The transaxle seems to be a "GBE". It appears this is out of an A4 with the 3.0. The tail section is marked AN/AP. I thought these were one or the other.

Just wondering if all of this will fit in my 01 2.7 allroad. I posted over at QW, but the thread has died without an answer.

This must be the toughest question in the Allroad universe. I have asked just about everywhere, and the threads get a ton of views, and no response. I've found numerous threads online, with the same results. I guess I'll be the guinea pig, or just say f it, and sell everything.

Some better photos would be welcome on cv axle, diff shape.

95% that your tranny will fit on. 01E casings are the basicly the same.
You will have problems with

- CV axle flange (hex form)
- cardan shaft size
- size, mountings of the rear diff - you may have sell it and find one that fits

Here are some more pics. I'll get detailed shots of the flanges and axles.

I do not have the spacer. I know I'll need that.

Tomorrow I can compare these with my own spare swap parts that are lying around.

I appreciate that. I am positive all parts are from the same car, so the ratio will be the same.

A relevant update.
I did a swap recently using a diesel drivetrain.
It is slightly below 2000 revolutions at 100km/h in 6th gear. The 5th gear equals the 5th gear of the tiptronic.
Just a few experiences yet - but the latest average with 50% city + 50% highway+landway mix = 10,74 liters per 100km. That equals 26 mpg! Astonishing, especially because the 50% city was full of short routes and hills.
The 1., 2nd gears are the same, the third is already a bit longer, and the 4th ...6th are much longer.
The acceleration has been worsened slightly of course, but there is still a lot of KRAFT.

I appreciate the update. At least when someone comes across this thread, it will have some sort of answers for them.

As for my car, I'm currently parting it. Turbos let go, and that was the final straw for me. I just can't dump anymore money into it.

I sold the tranny, but the rest of the swap parts are in my shed.
