Default How to kill bqckup sensor beeps?

I've been driving cars and motorcycles for 25 years. Haven't backed up into anything yet. My 2004 ar has those radar sensors and the beeping is killing. Me. It goes into super fast beep when I'm like 3 feet away from things. Parallel parking in the city damn nearly gives me a heart attack.

Can I simply pull a fuse or something to kill the function?

Probably, just pull the fuse cover. The fuses should be listed on the cover. And from what I remember the parking sensors have an independent fuse(as oppose to having two functions on one fuse).

I'm pretty sure there is a fuse, or you could always unplug the module which I think is in the rear somewhere.

Personally I love the feature, it makes parallel parking or parking in tight spaces so much easier. I back up until it beeps solid, then I know I am about 1 foot away from things and adjust from there. My garage is full of stuff so I only have about 16" of extra depth to spare (8" front, 8" rear) so this feature lets me back in to the perfect place every time.

I know on the newer Audis you can turn down the volume thru the VCDS....not sure on the C5 allroad tho.

It's a nice convenience feature...especially for me wife !!

Disconnect the two plugs in the picture. One brown, one black. These are located to the right of the CD changer or satellite controller.
