Default Allroad Suspension overfilling front springs

My 01 Allroad air suspension has a new issue: the front springs are overfilled.
I have attached a photo showing the front end. Both from springs have Arnott replacements and have had not issues for 5 years. Car has 165k miles. Any help or pointers on where to begin would be appreciated. Thanks,

Michael

I put in another vote for the sensors. Check both sides to make sure they are connected correctly.

Do you have access to a VCDS?
Assuming you have checked the front sensors are still connected and plugged in, (little plastic arms that clip on the front wishbone link up to a small sensor. Check they should be secure with no movement by hand) then you can check and reset the ride height using a VCDS. I have just been doing this on mine as one rear corners suddenly went higher than the others.
Check on this site for the 402 Mod for instructions. When you trigger the module the first thing it does is let the air out of all the bags, so you get this sudden sinking feeling (literally!) as the vehicle goes all the way down, then pumps up to what it thinks is level 2. From there you can change or re-enter the ride heights for each corner, then save the new heights. The VCDS will also scan the module and give you error codes if any or the sensors or the valve block are not working.

Default Found mine that way today too.

When I came out of the office it looked like it was on "Level 5".

Where is Pressure Sensor G291?

I just scanned it with VCDS and found one error.

G291 Located in the valves block. Usually fault code number 01772 Shows a compressor failure

No, hi is Integral within the valve block. As I said earlier in most cases the problem is not in the G291. Compressor Repair Kit will fixes the problem

Default Allroad Suspension overfilling front springs-Update

I was able to repair my Allroad suspension by re-working the disconnected level sensor linkage on the passenger side. The bottom connection was broken. I will look for replacement linkage but the car is level and drives great again.

A big thank you to Papertoast and GOto60 for their help and input.

John 535is-I will be buying a cable for VCDS. I used to one share with a friend but he re-wired it for his BMW.

glad you got it figured out
might not be a bad idea to grab a new sensor, they do fail eventually
and seeing how you have a connector that is broken . . .
