Default allroad tcm woes

I have read alot, scanned and have already ordered a new tcm. Here are a few photos of my current tcm. Anyone can chime in on possible corrosion?

Are your trying to figure out why it went bad and what to do to prevent it from happening again?

i wanted to make sure this was corrosion i was seeing. quick question transman, i dropped my tranny pan and found two small pieces of metal. i did an actuator test under the tranmsision section of my scanner, i have vag 401x. it was saying open to short to all solenoids and pressure control valves. when in reverse or drive the car just revs and then if i rev to high it slams into gear. what i have been doing is removing the tcu and driving around in limp mode then when on the highwat reconnecting the tcu and then i can drive in 3,4,5 in d,s, or tip, but it just revs in gears 1,2. so my question is should i assume my tranny is toast?
