Ive got a 2003 2.7T and it has the standard Symphony stereo system and only just recently the stereo has started emitting random beeps which on investigation are it trying to do something with the phone. Thing is it used to have a phone kit but now doesn't and I checked the fuse panel and the fuse for the phone (#8 according to the label on the fuse panel) is already out.
Anyone have any clues on where to look for the problem?

Update, it's still beeping but after much driving sound I found its not in a random manner and it also happens when the stereo is off, the stereo just makes it louder! It also happens when the key is taken out of the ignition and the car locked from the outside.
There is one beep then about two minutes later two beeps about 20 seconds apart repeated every couple of minutes.
Is there a battery in the system other than the main starting battery that could be failing? Does the alarm/immobiliser or something similar have an independent power source and where is it to investigate?
Anyone else had this issue?

I havent heard of it but I would stick my head under the dash and make sure all the relays, clips etc are seated tightly.

Also, wouldnt hurt to make sure your battery is fully charged too.
