Default COntrol arm, or sway bar, or I have no idea

Hello ,
First off, let me say after years of fighting with my Honda CRV this car is a pleasure to work on. 10 minutes for 02 sensors, half hour for shock and struts. I'm happy to be back in an Audi...or I will be.

So the right wheel will not articulate forward or down. That is, even with the strut and bag out it can be push up, and pulled toward the rear of the vehicle, but it will NOT pull down or past midway forward.

I suspect a busted bushing to be honest, but since I don't know, and don't wish to replace everything in the vicinity I thought it best to actually ask.

Again: If yo are looking at it straight on the wheel will go backwards, and up, but not down or forward. It is basically locked with the CV pointed roughly 20 degrees away from the ground.

I see a sway bay, two lower control arms (Bushing aren't great shape, the rear one may be torn.)

Where do I start, so as not to spend $800 on parts when I do not know the root cause?

I'm assuming this is a C5 allroad?

Yes, to get enough forward movement out of the spindle/carrier assembly, you will have to remove the sway bar C brackets.

Depending on mileage, you rear lower control mount is probably shot. You may want to look closer at your uppers as well.

Default I'm a dolt

It's a 2002 allroad, 2.7t 154k miles. Sorry about that.

I looked and the one i understand to bebthe lower rear control arm, the rubber inside the bushing is torn with about 1/4 missing. I can't seem to find the bushing alone. It seems wasteful to but the whole kit though since the metal arms are fine.

the uppers appear normal, maybe 30 degrees of stiff bendiness, similar to the driver side.

The lower rear control arm is the large one. The bushing is about 2 1/2-3 inches in diameter. I have an extra one laying around, but the outer bushing is usually in worse shape than the inner.
