The cooling fan on my '04 Allroad, with 170K miles, is now continuing to run after I turn the engine off. It's doing this during winter conditions, on both after short and long trips. The coolant is new and full. I have no electrical issues or CEL light. It has never done this in the 6 years I've owned it. Any info or experience with this is appreciated. Thanks.

Several things operate the fan, the air conditioner (high pressure sensor) The temperature of the cooling fluid (Thermal switch Number one in the picture) And The ECU By relay J138 This relay activate when the coolant temperature exceeds ~109C for a period of time. In addition it provides the control voltage into the low speed fan relay J138
