HELP! Aux Water Pump... Intake off now what?
Help,
Car is apart, I thought I had everything figured out.
2001 allroad APB 2.7T engine
Bought this...
Silicone Hose, B5 Audi S4 2.7T After Run Auxiliary Coolant Pump Delete - 034-102-3010 - 034Motorsport | Performance Parts for Audi, Porsche, and Volkswagen
The web site says good for allroad.
Got intake off and this is what I see (see attachment)
Does not look right.
I don't see the connection at the firewall end.
I have searched and searched most guys do this on the s4 or a6 and the routing looks different.
Am I missing something?
Do I have to get the aux pump and send this back to 034?
Or have any of you all had this issue and see anything I'm missing.
Thanks,
Doug

I know you guys are trying to help, but the type of coolant is not important right now.
but fyi I bought the car used and when it started leaking i bought the proper coolant it looked like g12 was in there to begin with but who knows. It was pinkish.
also the statement "It just replaces the pump. Don't need anything else. Same thing that factory did with the pump relocation kit."
does not make sense to me if the elbow replaces the pump then what does the factory PUMP relocation have to do with it?
I have seen pump relocation threads
As I said I have done a ton of research and settled on deleting the pump
also in my research I have not seen anyone with the same routing as mine
I am going to replace the pump with an elbow and hopefully that does for my routing what the 034 hose would do for the other routing.
that is my main question if anyone has seen this or dealt with what routing and the fix that I am going to try.
remember this is on an allroad with tip not an a6 or s4 variant
if anyone knows.
I hope I have been making sense. lol
Thanks,
Doug

Part of the pump relocation kit puts an elbow at the current pump location. All the elbow does is connect the pump inlet hose to the outlet hose, bypassing the pump. I don't know what that hose you bought is for, but the allroad doesn't need it to do a pump bypass. Your pump installation is standard for the allroad.

The hose they sent you does not look right for this model.
I have seen a 90 deg coolant pipe connection where the pump is if you want to delete it.
The bosch pumps are not that expensive, this one lasted 14 years, why not replace it?
It does serve a purpose, it provides some cooling to reduce heat soak.
I replaced the hoses and the clamps while I was at it just because they are easy to get too with the inlet off.

The hose you got looks to be for this style of Auxiliary pump set up.
What I have seen done in the past is people have used a small 90 degree hose in place of the pump like this:
When I did mine I decided to replace the pump. It wasn't that expensive and the original lasted about 12 years so I shouldn't need to dig in there again. If you live in a fairly mild climate then you probably don't need to worry about having a pump because it only comes on after high temps or long, high load driving conditions (ie driving over mountain passes in the summer).

I had to buy the check valve and 3 other hoses because they were all leaking. Holy cow nearly 200 bucks. When the parts com in I will try the elbo in place of the pump.
Dang 034 motor sports.
Their website specifically says for allroad.
What a pain!
Anything else to do while I've got the intake off?
Thanks,
Doug
