Default Need help wiht my 6m!

I went to check the oil level in ARs 6M and was unable to get plug off, turn out the last guy to take it off used the wrong size allen and now it's striped out. Anyone have any suggestion on how to loosen the plug now?

Prolly have to weld a bolt to it to get purchase to remove...then buy a new plug and make sure you have the correct sized allen wrench for the next time.

if you have any torx drives, try knocking in a larger size into the worn allen..you can also get removal tools, mine are snap on,but think tool suppliers do a cheap version, looks like a tapered left hand thread, you knock it in and remoe, work well

Grind a slightly tapered instrument from a small chisel or screwdriver blade and hammer it in,
grab with small adjustable wrench, works best with stripped allen screws.

Welding a nut or bolt onto it would be the best bet as that plug is notoriously HARD to remove, I bet it was stripped by PO due to that, not due to tightening. I have to use breaker bar on mine every time I check levels (I've had some leaks in past which were solved with new seals but I am paranoid about it now) even though I tighten it with prescribed torque... Seems like when you put 30lb/ft on it you then need 90 to undo it... lol.

Before attempting to undo it, first spray the plug with PB blaster couple of times and give it time to soak in.

Irwin's extractor tool at most cheap auto parts stores. I had the same problem, Worked like a champ. Inexpensive for the whole set, $20 or so.
