Default passenger side cooling fan removal, help please!

not many people describe the actual process of removing this thing, just the diagnostics for it (which were great in helping me diagnose this). from what i understand there is 1 screw, then spin the housing and it will come out?

i removed the screw, and have been able to shift the fan housing a little, but in no way does it seem like it's going to rotate and pop out. what am i missing here? do i need to remove the hose going to intercooler to get more room?

thanks,
john

Thanks for reply and including the graphic, that's exactly what I'm doing. Have you done this? How much force does it take to rotate the fan chassis? After removing that screw mine feels free but doesn't want to rotate more than a couple of mm. Any thoughts?

You do not have to put the front into service position. It helps to remove the boost tube on that side of the engine though. There is the screw that holds the fan and also a tab clip that must be pressed to get the fan out. You can kind of see it in this picture of the fan. It will be near the bottom of the fan when it is installed in the car.
