Default Possibly buying 05 Allroad

Hello all,

I am new to audi I am looking at an 05 allroad as a winter option. It has 67k KM (41k miles) and its $5000 CAD (just under 4500$). Just wondering if this is a good price. Also what to look for and expected maintenance. I'm sure it will be better than my current car on gas and maintenance.

Thanks,
Chris

Chris

you are asking a question that has been asked and answered 1000000 times before here. asked and answered ALMOST daily. Please do some work on your own first. Look at the allroad buyers guide, use the search function. The information you seek is all here -

Welcome to the forums. The AR is a great car that requires a lot of commitment from its owner. Buying one (and paying a reasonable price) that's been wel looked after and is well sorted is the key. You will still be spending more than if you bought a similar vintage RAV4 or something, but hey, that's the price of entry right?

Also search the forum for air suspension woes, timing belt service intervals.

Personally in the past year, I've done:
  • converted air suspension to coil-overs (shop)
  • valve cover gaskets, cam tensioner gasket (self)
  • fuel injector seals (self)
  • CV boots (shop)
  • upper control arms (shop)

The good thing is that the car and drivetrain have been sold around the world so there are plenty of good resources (I am not very handy but I was able to tackle some of the needed repairs myself just by asking questions on the forums.)

This is one of the best forums (previous snippy response notwithstanding ) Search the forum and you will find most of what you need.

Bottom line: maybe $5000 is a good price for the AR you're looking at, but without receipts and an inspection by a good independent shop with intimate knowledge of VAG cars, it's impossible to say.

That's a killer price. Where are you located?
