Are there any battery terminal in the back ?

Default Are there any battery terminal in the back ?

2001 allroad 2.7 T


I have an extra battery and I want to hook it up to the car. Are there any battery terminals in the trunk ? Thanks.

nope; and unless you pull the spare out, not gonna have a good place to stash it either

Unless one goes fancy and does some kind of RS6 trunk batter retrofit...

Might be able to stash a smaller battery in the tool box compartment on the driver's side. You would have to go over measurements on the manufacturer's websites to find the right battery. Even then, you would need to custom fabricate a SAFE mount, and run heavy gauge cable back to the engine.

I would weigh the advantage of having the additional battery vs the risk should you have an accident.

There's already a lot of components (compressor air storage tank, compressor wiring, general wiring and fuel tank nearby) in that area of the car.

We all know what happens when you combine air, fuel vapors and an electrical spark when components are smashed in a bad accident.

good reminder; also not sure what the advantage would be to having another battery unless one is running an inverter to run something off 110v.

these cars take a fairly beefy battery already, should be plenty of juice for whatever you throw at it
