VAGCOM Instrument Settings - Wiper Fluid Sensor?
I have a faulty fluid sensor (don't ever use Rain-X fluid, it coats the sensor and you have to clean or replace it) and until the weather here in MT gets nicer I'd like to disable the warning as I know how much fluid I have.
Question is how to do it or can I? I know many other models can disable the fluid sensor but looking at the Ross Tech website and in VAGCOM I don't see that option for an 04 allroad. In fact though my code was 20264 VOGCOM only had a +04 setting for allroad as a real option. Nothing else added up to 20 so I'm not sure if I'm just not seeing the options on the website or what.
Here are the options on the website:
??xxx: Options
## +01 = Larger Fuel Tank (80 liters for 8-Cylinder Quattro and S6)
## +02 = Seatbelt Warning active
## +04 = Tires for Allroad (MY 2002+)
I did try setting the first 2 digits to just 04 but that didn't help so it may be that I can't disable that warning via VAGCOM but I'd still be interested to know how it got 20 in there.
Like I said I have a sensor that I'll replace (or clean the existing one) but I would like to wait until spring. Jumpering wires... I may as well just replace the sensor. So if I cannot do this via VAGCOM I'll just live with it for a bit.
Anyone know what the settings in VAGCOM instruments are for this model?
Thanks!

I can't answer your VAGCOM question but I am sure curious about Rain-X since I use it all the time on my 2014 A6 TDI. Were you referring to the original Rain-X product that makes the windshield water repellent? Or their windshield washer fluid additive?

Unlikely that it is in the ECU (and accessible via VCDS). Looking at the wiring diagram, thst switch goes to the "check control module". The switch should trigger the display when "closed". Disconnecting the wiring harness at the level switch should turn the display off. If not, jumper the pins together.

OK, thank you. That's what I was afraid of.
As far as the Rain-X it is the washer fluid with Rain-X additive. After I started having this issue I read thru the forums and a number of people mentioned it being the issue with their sensor.
