Default Visco fan delete - belt length

I removed the visco fan from my APB 2.7T, but not the clutch/pulley.
I read that i can remove the clutch/pulley and simply run a shorter belt?

what length? part number? good source for the shorter belt?

I know I the tensioner could take up the extra slack, but would rather keep the tensioner in its proper 'range'.

Plus would need to fab this timing belt cover (if clutch/pulley is removed):

i removed the fan and clutch, but kept the pulley in place and just run the stock configuration. theres very minimal/no rotating friction to the pulley

Done a bunch of visco fan delete (and E fan conversions) now, recently 2 more.
Always used the original belt. No issues, and makes it a bit easier to put the belt on. But really NOT much difference at all.
