Default Water temperature issues

I recently bought a 2002 Audi Allroad 2.7t which I was told had a new timing belt, water pump and thermostat fitted about ten thousand kilometers ago.

I have made the following observations:

1. When driving the vehicle the temperature of the engine coolant as shown on the gauge does not rise above zero although the oil temperature rises to about eighty degrees celsius. However, when I stop and turn the motor off and then restart it after a few minutes the water temperature will rise to ninety degrees but falls to zero again when I am driving.

2. The heater in the vehicle does not at any time emit warm air.

I intend to fit a a new temperature sensor and bleed the cooling system but I thought one of the members may recognize other possible issues.

Sounds like your thermostat is stuck.
