I ordered a 2017 Q7 and gave 3 dates in May and May 8th was reserved for my as emailed me by my dealer although I have not received any direct information from Audi. Tonight I was starting my trip reservations but decided to look over the information again on the ED website. It states that the customer should not make travel arrangements until the car is built. Does that actually mean not making arrangements until May 8th, assuming that the car will be build by then? That would be problematic for me.

You should only make flight reservations after confirmation that your Q7 is built and your delivery date is confirmed. If your dealer cannot provide any more information, I would email the USA Marketing Coordinator for European Delivery. Give him your Comm# and have him check for confirmation.
He is really helpful and can confirm your delivery date and hotel reservation.
