For the second year in a row, the Audi R8 V10 will lead the field of cars at the 2014 Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona.

Audi pace cars may be the only Factory cars running at tracks in the near future if the deep cuts in non essential programs VW Group is considering. No doubt privately funded efforts will continue should that happen.

Yeah, if even that. Racing is expensive, and non-essential given the global TDI crisis.. Sad.

Sad for the dedicated team members. Audi has fielded some of the most competitive and cutting edge cars for some time. I suspect the racing program will be one of the first on the chopping block.
