Default Boost Question

'95 S6--128K miles.

In Boston, after the blizzard car is awesome in the snow.

I notice when I floor it in 5th when the revs are like about 2000 the boost gauge will swing to the high teens for just a fraction of a second & then drop back to about 15.

I also think I can hear a "woosh" when it drops.

Possible I have a hose leak? I think the hoses are original.

Thanks!

Tom

Probably the "Michelin Man" hose between the crossover tube and the intercooler *OR* a split in the plastic UrS6 crossover tube or intercooler end tank.

Say--my Airbox/MAF cover is cracked--will that cause any problems?

Thanks,

Tom

They all crack due to the heat from the turbo. Some crack more than others. Purely cosmetic. I think the engine bay looks better with the cover on, and especially if you use a silver pen to colour the OOOO rings. Theoretically, they are still available for US$52 (ish):

Thanks for the link. I should probably pick one up before they are NLA.

Do you have a source for oem fuel rail covers?

Despite what Genuine Volkswagen Audi Parts might say, it might be NLA. You won't know until you order one.

As for the injector cover, 034971824, GVAP says:
