It's for the power steering steering (green cap/green hydraulic fluid). and it's the brakes light 2nd one down.

I noticed that one of the cables is cut and I'm the under belly of the cap there is a black **** with a hole in it. I'll get you a picture of it

The Item 2 stuff. What about Item 3?

Item 3 is there.

This wouldn't cause the pulsation would it? I don't think it would since I been driving it all summer fine without it and no pulsation but if something is missing then something is missing

In regards to the pulsation. Do you think the pump is at fault? Reason I ask yesterday I touched the hose going from pump to steering rack and I felt like there is a pulsating feeling to it and I hear a tick/knock from the pump itself that tick gets faster as I rev it and I swear it's on 100% sequence with the pulsation from the brake pedal. The pump has re manufactured on it

Without the item 2 float stuff, you do not have a warning system to tell you that you are low on power steering/power brake assistance fluid. That could be dangerous.

The lack of the warning float has nothing to do with the pulsing, other than it might be masking a low fluid level in the reservoir. (??)

In any event, the PS/PB has two sides: the PS side is a vane pump (very little if any pulsing potential); the PB pump is a two piston effort with a high possibility of pulsing. I would have to suspect the brake pressure accumulator having a problem, i.e. a leak in the diaphragm.

PS/PB pump info HERE:

I'm gonna try to replace it again. The bomb is less than 6 months old I had this issue before replaced the bomb and it worked for that time and when it got colder it started to act up again

Was this a new, used or refurbished pressure accumulator (aka b*mb)?

Not familiar with FCP. I paged through their UrS4/S6 parts and they tend to supply a lot of Meyle parts that once upon a time was a good brand but it seems to have sourced out of China now and the quality is not as good as it once was. The Febi Bilstein pressure accumulator should be good. I see FCP has a warranty policy that should cover a replacement (minus shipping no doubt). Contact FCP.

i already did, and just working on taking the part out of the car and sending it back to them to have a replacement shipped back. and ill try that. funny enough the brakes worked this morning after I pressed them down till the light went out and drove for about 30 min no problem. could be cold weather induced issue but will see what happens

Thanks Dave
