Default DEAD SHORT--BATTERY GOES FLAT IN A COUPLE OF HOURS

Battery is good & alternator charges. When I charge the battery, the car is fine--shut it off & battery is completely dead in 2-3 hours.

Any ideas??

Thanks,

Tom

Normally the answer is the 329 window and sunroof control module in the driver's kick panel but that is usually only over night. 2 to 3 hours might be that but it is a serious current draw. Fans/pumps running? As in the after-run pump and fan control "324" module in the passenger side kick panel?

Thanks, Dave. After fan isn't running. I notice after I charge the battery & run the car, when I turn off the climate control I pick up about 3 Amps on the gauge. I ran the climate control on full high for a couple of hours to dry the front seats (Dyed).
Wonder if I cooked something in that operation?

3 Amps is huge. The normal ignition OFF draw is something like 0.04 amps, i.e. the constant power to the ECU memory. No wonder your battery is going flat so quickly.

On top of the A/C evaporator box, there is a fan control "module", the one in the photo below with the blue, red and brown wires. You might want to remove it and see if you cooked something inside it.

More info about this module HERE

I'm attempting to bring this post back alive. My battery is also losing juice quickly after turning the car off. The after run pump is basically running until the battery has drained. I recently installed the 034 Stage 1+ chip into my socketed ECU and before the install I never had this problem. After finding this post I did some checking into the relays shown above and noticed my S61 After-Run thermal switch and pump fuse is missing. I checked to see if somehow it was knocked out from moving the carpet but no luck... I'm assuming this is the reason for the constant run on the pump/fan?

Thanks
Jeff

If the afterrun fan/pump are running and not turning off it's usually a bad relay/control unit the brown one above some later cars they are black. But you're saying it's missing or something?
