I agree it seems quicker than stock. Chip makes a huge difference, and I remember how slow it seemed without one. Hard to tell if its chipped just looking the car over, unless you remove the ecu or measure boost, for someone that wouldn't know from driving it.
Both mine were stock when bought, and I installed a MTM 1+ and silicone hoses - makes a big difference.
Pretty nice S4 you found either way, esp given the high miles. Seems to be well taken care of.

The bulb is soldered to a PCB inside the key. I can only find a PN for the regular, non-IR bulbs, used on some Audi keys to illiminate the locks. Try Radio Shack.
Here is a photo showing a failed connection after the key went through the wash.
Here is how you pry the key apart to access that PCB and the bulb:
