Timing belt bullet dodged...
#11
I have seen lots of people forget they have done there timing belts over the years.
I just had a Honda Accord last week that was brought in for a t-belt @ 90k and the belt probably only had 10k on it, last month, same thing with a Four Runner. It sucks for us because many times it takes a bit to get down to the belt only to see its new and then we have to put it back together and send all the parts back. Not really a biggy, better than putting a t-belt on there car that they don't need. I think often the water pump starts leaking and the belt gets replaced or the customer takes the car in for scheduled maintenance and the belt gets done and they forget.

My car is on it's third timing belt. I changed mine with about 87k on the second one.
The belt had little surface cracks but looked mostly fine. I plan on replacing the belt again about 90k miles from now.
