Default 2008/2009 R8 Reliability

Greetings!

Would anyone like to enlighten me a little on the reliability or major issues of a 2008/2009 R8 with a manual transmission? Would you recommend that year R8 with a manual?

I don't have one yet, but after lots and lots of research, unlike most cars (maybe due to low volume produced?) there has been precious little bad with these cars... early mag shocks, carbon build up and that's about it seems like.. nothing out of the ordinary.... I'm hoping to pick up a used one sometime this year....

From the research I have done The AC compressor can be an issue. Big bucks to repair by Audi. Big Bucks. Some say Indy shops can do it a lot cheaper $2000 or so if you have a shop you trust. Shock replacement is also big $$$ if you stay OEM. Replacement parts are very high. Again go aftermarket and save a bundle.
I am torn between a 2008 r8 or a 90’s NSX.
I love my 2016 TTS but I hate automatic transmission cars. Boring and not as reliable long term.
