Orinda Auto Detail - Audi R8 V10 Opti Coat Pro
VROOOOOOM VROOOOOM! So here at Orinda Auto Detail word is getting around about what an amazing job we do! This is causing people to show up with all kinds of awesome cars! This one for example is a beauty! The beast of an R8 packed with a Lambo V10! Right out the gate when I saw the car I knew it needed a lot of help... Lets get on with it!
Upon arrival it was looking pretty lifeless. I still didn't mind looking at
Thrashed wheels all the way around!
Very hard to capture the magnitude of how bad the paint was on this car because its white, and I'm taking pics with an Iphone. But here you see almost no clarity, tons of etch marks, and scratches
The damage from improper previous car washers is obvious on this hard plastic lens, that paint looked worse... There is a very big scratch and shine tunnel type of car wash a town over from me that had only "hand washed" this car since it was new. This shows with out a doubt all "hand washes" are not the same. Just because you don't stick the you car in the big machine that thrashes paint does not mean that when they charge you more for a "hand wash" that it will be any better.
The carbon fiber in the engine bay looks lifeless...
So pulled into the wash bay to get started. I always start with the wheels. Using a combo of wheel woolies, wheel bright, and Iron X. The barrels needed wheel bright apparently at a tunnel car wash they dont clean barrels. After this I washed, Ironx'd, clayed the car so it would be properly prepped for the polishing steps.
Quick clay showed a lot of fall out here.
A lot of water spots, and what appeared to me more bad washing marks... Guess they tried to clean up the engine bay...
Moving on to all the small stuff, that makes the biggest difference in the end product!
I used CAR compound/polish on this entire car. This is after that same combo! huge improvement!
All those improper "hand washes" leaving crazy amounts of damage everywhere being erased with ease!
Finished this area! Looking super sharp now!
Standing up I saw the already finished light and back area and decided it was picture worthy as all the black pieces looked like puddles of ink! Just to do those little wings, I used 3 different polisher, 5 pads, and even a lot of stuff I did by hand as it was unreachable. Prep work at it finest!
And that is how it is done! Proper prep work takes time, but if you put in the time you will get outstanding results!
Thanks for looking
