v8 vs v10
I am just getting started in doing my research as I begin to search for an R8. I'm sure everyone has their personal preferences, but I am hoping a few of you can give me the pros and cons of each engine. One of my biggest concerns is the reliability of the V10. Should I be concerned? Thanks for any and all input. It is much appreciated.

I'm also interested in this info, as I plan for a used R8 in the near future. I would think the 4.2 is more reliable given it's long stable history in the Audi line-up. I have the 4.2 in my D4 A8L, and it's very smooth.

I have a '14 V10 spyder. I'm a bit confused though. It is well known that The V10 is one of the most reliable engines out there?
Personally I never settle for anything that will have me wondering. And once I heaad that V10 purr I was hooked. Its like Mozart on wheels. V8 is also gone in the 2nd gen in case you are wondering

Mine is a V8 coupe and I'm more than satisfied with the 4.2. While it may not have the V10's unique sound, it still sounds fine and as Mister Bally says, it's an R8. I'm certain you'd be happy with either choice. A deciding factor for me was past experience with a 2011 A8 4.2. A great trouble-free engine.
