I have been struggling with distorted sound with my bose system that is no longer bearable. I believe the amplifier is the culprit, but I am not sure where it is located. I have the back drivers side apart now and can see the subwoofer. Behind the subwoofer speaker itself is a small amp, but that seems to be just the sub amp. Where is the common amplifier for the rest of the speakers? There is a common amplifier, right??

Ok... I found the amp. It was hiding in the subwoofer speaker box. It turns out that it is part number: 8D9 035 381 B. Last year, I bought a replacement amp from ebay that was part number: 8D0 035 225 A as they listed it as the one in my car. Oops.

Is there anyway I could use this one as a replacement? It is physically larger, so I would have to mount it elsewhere. Plus, they have different connectors (26 pin vs 25 pin) but if I were to find the wiring diagram for both.... maybe I could get it to work.

If not, what do people think is my best bet in getting this working again? Should I try an aftermarket amp? Wait and see if one pops up on ebay? other??

I am posting this on Audiworld and Audiforums as I am not sure where I will get the most help.
