The iPod dock in the glove box works fine when my iPod is plugged in, but it didn't come with any of the size adapters to hold the iPod in place, so the iPod doesn't stay in when you're driving. I bought a cord with one end being the female side to plug into the iPod dock, and the other end is the male side of an auxiliary cord. If I plug the cord into the dock before the car realizes I've taken the iPod out, the sound goes through great. But after a moment the car thinks nothing is in there and switches to a cd. So how to I get the car to recognize the cord?
