Component Protection after MMI swap

Component Protection after MMI swap
Recently swapped out a dead MMI controller with one I purchased online (Audi quoted $3000, I did it for $170 + shipping). Naturally, the Component Protection popped up. Everything works great, except the sound of course.
Is there anyway to clear this without taking it in? I spoke to Audi Service near me and they said they will clear it for $135. Didnt know if I could clear myself or reset serial.

You might be able to use a VAGCOM to reset everything. Or if you can get lucky and reset it at Autozone with a code reader that might work as well but I'm skeptical. Good luck.

You can not do anything with vag or autozone.....

Anyone in the Dallas area that has the tool to do this for me? I'll happily pay a small fee.
