Default Data SIM for Audi Connect in the US

I see this has been discussed rather inconclusively elsewhere in this forum, but has anyone made any progress in finding a replacement SIM and data plan for Audi Connect.

I tried RedPocket, but their data scheme/facility seems to have disappeared the minute I received a SIM card from them.

The rest of my phones are on Verizon. Is there any mileage in trying their iPad data-only SIM if indeed it's available without an iPad?

There are several threads dealing with Audi Connect sim cards, providers and carriers. It all depends on which year and model Audi you have. Generally, If you have a pre-2014 model, you can use TruPhone which will give you T-Mobile 3G. An AT&T sim will only give you 2G speed. If you have a 2014+, an AT&T sim will probably work in 3G. Verizon will not work at all on any Audi due to the different frequencies.
Try searching for more info.

Apparently on at least the TT mk3 you can also tether over wifi to a phone/tablet and use it's data connection: The Audi TT Forum :: View topic - Audi Connect - Personal Hotspot
