Default Amplifiers.....Question

I have been out of the car stereo thing for 8 years now, so I've decided to get equipment/install for my new S4.For now,I plan on leaving the factory Bose head unit intact.I am looking for comments,likes/dislikes,etc.concerning sound quality and reliability of these amp brands
Phoenix Gold
Precision Power
Soundstream
Are there others I should check out? Oh, I'm tossing the factory speakers too.
Many thanks,Dave Anderson

Default a couple of things...

I'd ask around on the Phoenix Gold... I've heard some stuff about how they do funny things to your electrical system. Maybe this is hear-say.. but it's worth checking out anyway.

I'm partial to Xtant myself. Of all the people I've talked to in different audio forums as well as install shops, everyone seems to consistantly agree that Xtant makes a really good product.... which is funny because usually shops that don't carry a particular brand usually like to tell you all the reasons why that brand sucks... well.. even dealers who DON'T carry Xtant rave about their products. Plus, I've been reading a LOT of car audio magazines lately... paying attention to what competitors are using.. and I'm seeing more and more Xtant. They use a lot of top quality audiophile components in their amps and they seem to be really well designed and well built.

One drawback to Xtant... If you want more power (like four channels at 75 watts each) you have to step up to their X series.. and those puppies aren't cheap. You're looking at $999 bucks a piece... but then again... if you could afford an S4, then that's probably chump change to you! Otherwise, the 404M is their entry level at 50wpc, and it's like $450 bucks... and still a very good amp.
