Hi, I´ve read in many threads that sound quality is far better with SD cards because there is no digital-analog conversion... but my experience is that music played from SD CARD is noticeably muffled (in comparison to iPhone 5 through green bonnet lightning cable). Same .m4a non-DRM files purchased from iTunes Store (AAC 256kbp). SC Card is SDHC Type 10.

I´ve even fumbled with volume (which is usually higher through iPhone) to compensate and with the treble and bass controls, but sound quality IS better (crisper, surround effect) through iPhone 5 with green bonnet cable (didn´t try iPhone 4 or iPods).

Am I doing something wrong with the SD CARD/files/MMI/Settings? I would really like to use the SD Card instead of iPhone...

Same experience in the base radio on a 2014 A5. Music that sounds great in a non extravagant home audio system sounds poor at best in the car. I feel like it is more poor speakers and speaker placement in the car's cabin. Even with the 12 band EQ on my android phone playing through the audio in jack, I can't fix the sound quality. I guess if it sounded great, no one would opt for the B&O system.

Well... just found what the problem was. I didn´t know that the audio settings (treble, bass and subwoofer) are INDEPENDENT for each SOURCE. So it was just a matter of replicating the same settings from the AMI settings to the SD CARD audio settings . Same files, same settings, and now, same audio quality!
