Well. Tried again to do it on from a lab top from a unprotected disc. No Luck.! I'll try the hidden menu. It has s disclaimer about damage. What's the worse that could happen ?

Are you able to play the CD you want to import? (I assume so, pardon my question.) The import screen option is grayed out unless a CD is loaded. I know this is basic but haven't seen this mentioned.

The commercial CDs I loaded were probably pre-copy protect. The other MP3 CDs I recorded myself years ago.

What's the easiest way to tell if your MMI is 2g or 3 g ?

I couldn't get into the green screen. It explained push car+ setup buttons. I don't have setup labeled and tried s few different options but no Green Screen

Did you enable it first with Vag-Com? If so, push Menu+Car buttons together and hold until the Hidden Menu appears.

Vag-Com or it's equivalent, is an OBDII tool and software that allows mods to be done to the car's software. Most here use the Ross-Tech VCDS cable and software but there are others. You can press buttons all day but nothing will allow the Hidden Menu to appear until you first change the coding using a Vag-Com tool that supports it. Do a search - there are hundreds of threads about Vag-Com.

Most likely the feature of importing music from CD was not enable. Audi dealer should enable it when doing PDI. I would bring it back to the dealer and ask them nicely. I think they will correct that for you.
