Default 2015 S5 - Stubborn black scuff mark

Hello all,

Not even 2 weeks into ownership of my new S5, and a stubborn scuff mark is driving me insane. It's an ibis white S5 and it isn't super noticeable, but it is to me.

I noticed it after I washed the car. Looks like it could be from some kind of rubber.

I tried claying first and then turtle wax ultra compound (after washing ofcourse), but no go.

I'm by no means an expert and I'm not sure how "rough" I should be with the applicator pad and UC.

Can you guys chime in with any advice?

It's difficult to see in the photo, but hopefully it helps.

Thank you.

I got most of it off with elbow grease and the McGuire's (sp?) scratch removal product available at auto stores. I have no idea what does that in the first place. I suspect it may have been the GF's purse, actually.

Default Thanks!

Thank you both for the advice. After some more UC I managed to get the black mark out, but a light scratch remains in the clear coat. It isn't a deep scratch, but you can definitely feel the uneven-ness.

I know that feeling though. Sorry that happened.

Um, just by chance, do you have a Lacrosee player in the house? When I zoomed in just now it looks like a mark I got on another car after my son 'saved' the door from being hit by a ball.

Haha no lacrosee player, unfortunately a bit of road debris got onto my microfiber wipe and by the time I realized it, it was too late.
