Default Audi A6 OEM exhaust tips

What are the OEM tips made of? Are they Chrome, Stainless Steel etc. I'm looking for a way to make sure I keep them clean and not ruin them.

So far I'm just washing them with soap and wather and using a detail brush to clean the insides.

Thanks

A little metal polish with #0000 steel wool will clean them up. Weekly maintenance is necessary to stay ahead of the staining.

+1 0000 steel whool for the stubborn stuff around the lip. Some sort of metal polish for the rest and to finish it up. (I use Simichrome) Then just make sure you wash em off when you clean your car. I use my rim/tire mitt and give em a wipe when I wash the car and they stay nice.

I would recommend checking this out: It's safe on aluminum, chrome, stainless steel, and bare metals!
