chrome trim around shifter bubbled up?! fix? (pic)
hello all- was looking for a little feedback on this.
I parked the car last night after work, got up this morning and the trim around my shifter looked like this
it's an 07 A6 - has an otherwise mint interior. no chemicals at all. parked in my garage at night- temp in the garage got down to about 20* - but it's been colder- last month was -6* and everything was fine.
I can tolerate this. is this fixable? replaceable? if I can't resolve this for relatively cheap money- i'm gonna have to trade the car in!
thanks, for any help or tips-

If I had to guess, I would say that's gonna need a replacement. Unless you want to peel it all off, but then risk not being able to take it all off and cleanly. If you were able to take it all off, then I'd imagine you'd be able to match it relatively close with a good metallic spray paint or air brush. Maybe a junkyard could help?

This same thing is happening on my 2013 Q7 Prestige S Line. I tried to get Audi to replace under warranty and they claim its from something being spilled (moisture) and would not replace. They took the MMI surround apart and say they saw evidence of liquid. mi night the car second hand so the original owner most have spilled or left the sunroof open I assume.
I have been seeking a replacement option that would be OEM in appearance without paying Audi an arm and a leg to do it.
