Cleaning Q5 bright metal side trim.....
My one year old Q5 bright metal trim around the side windows looks badly oxidized. From my research, this seems to be polished aluminum coated in plastic according to Audi. They also admit that auto-car washes are causing the bad look and have no solution to fix it and they aren't going to replace it under warranty either.
Does anybody have a suggestion to make this look better? Metal polish and compounds are out as this is a plastic surface problem and those will make it look worse.
So what do others use on their recent Audi/VW vehicles?
