Default How do you keep bumpers looking new?

I'm thinking about getting my A7 in ice silver. I'm concerned about scratches on the bumpers though. I've seen a lot of ice silver cars that look bad because of all the nicks on the bumpers. The dark gray primer underneatch just looks aweful next to the bright ice silver paint.

What do you guys do to keep the bumpers looking new? Do you repair the scratches and bruises yourself? Or do you just take it to a detailer once a year and have them freshen things up? Or do you just accept the scratches and not do anything?

Thanks.
