Machine Buff & Swirl Marks

Excellent advice. Most factory clears are not that thick and depending on the amount needed to remove, a thickness gauge is a must.

Thanks guys. Sounds like I need to find someone who is competent enough to do the paint correction, and will use a gauge to be sure the clearcoat isn't gone.

If your in the nyc area there's plenty I can recommend. Or you can find some one on Instagram I don't mind helping you out if you don't have Instagram just tell me your area.
If a detailers uses correct product and pads he won't do any clear coat burning or damage. Also you can apply a product like ceramic pro 9h it prevents swirl marks. It's sort of like a screen protector on a phone.

I'll second the Ceramic Pro 9H or Opti-coat Pro Plus. I've had one or the other on my A6 for over 4 years and the paint looks as good as when new. No swirls and no waxing necessary.
