AudiWorld Formatter Firefox plug-in (updated v1.2.1)
So I made a Firefox plug-in to format AudiWorld a little better. The 1998ishness of the site was beginning to irk me and I wanted the site to be a bit more interactive.
Specifically, it bothered me that the dates of the posts were not in my timezone. So I fixed that. ...Then I wanted it to highlight my posts, so I made it do that. From there, things got a little crazy, so that the feature list ended up being:
<b>FEATURES:</b>
- Inline expansion of posts (only if clicking with the first mouse button, optionally allowing only one expanded post at a time. Middle-clicking still opens in new tab).
- Inline reply to post.
- Colorize of links by read-count (i.e. popularity).
- Reformat of post dates to your timezone.
- Reformat of post dates to shorter date format if they're more recent.
- Highlight links of specific poster.
- Style existing list items (for quick styling of page).
- Rewrite list items (using DIVs for further control over page using CSS/JS).
- Removal of links from no-text postings. (Also hiding of link underlining for no-text postings but can still open them if desired).
- Ability to show/hide many elements of the page (including ad sections, etc.).
- Custom page elements for title/name/links/etc. that are smaller than the original so less room is taken up by them.
- Custom code to show www.independenttuning.ca link and their IM status.
- Auto-refresh of page (optionally).
- All features are configurable and can be enabled/disabled.
To change the settings, there's no UI at present. You have to type "about:config" in your address-bar, and then filter using the keyword "audiworld". One of the things you'll probably want to do first is to set the "highlightPoster" to your audiworld username (this will highlight your posts).
I'd like some feedback on this, please. I don't have any time to work on it at all (otherwise it would be totally polished) but I'd like to hear what people think of it. Also the source code (a GreaseMonkey script) is avail in case anybody wants to change anything.
NOTE: Be sure to have "Simple HTML page generation" unchecked in your preferences before you try to use this plug-in. (The point of the plug-in, btw, is to make the page "simpler".)
Cheers.
Without further ado:<ul><li><a href="http://www.darylbeattie.com/files/audiworldscript_1.2.1.xpi">the plug-in (updated v1.2.1)</a></li></ul>

Ah...
I bet your AW prefs are different than mine and so your page is structured slightly differently.
I have a meeting now but later I'll find a fix for that.
(All I have checked are "show oldest replies first" and "show off topic threads"... but that might not be the prob. I'll look into it.)
