Default Calgary Area window replacement and tinting recomendations

Anyone recommend a place to replace the front windshield.

Also any recommendations on any places in town to have the windows tinted.

Does nyone know how much they can be tinted? i understand the front window cannot be at all, but the front drivers side and passenger side can be only so much while the back windows are different again. anyone know what percent?

Default I've used Shadow Tinting on my last 3 cars....

They've been pretty good.

I believe the Alberta law states that tinting is not allowed on the front windows (driver and passenger side), but you can do whatever you want on the back windows.

I personally don't like the "half tint" look so I go 35% all around (except windshield of course) and haven't had any issues with cops yet, knock on wood!

Default Ditto

I've had three cars done by Shadow Tinting.

I used the same approach as 36valves on my last two cars, but my wife didn't want to be 'illegal' so we got 50% tint just on the back windows of her Passat wagaon.

Default On the windshield, I recently used Crystal Glass on the recommendation of this board

Only problem was the glass they put in was very distorted on the passenger side...made my wife nauseous to look through it. But they were good about it and replaced it with....one that was worse!

On the 3rd try they got one with just a little bit of distortion on the very right (passenger) edge, which I don't notice while driving.

So, they looked after me OK, but they should have caught those - they seemed pretty obvious to me!

Also as a note - the 1st two were PPG-brand, the 3rd is a no-name. From other experiences I've read I would have thought PPG was the way to go.
