New to the forum and new to Audi. I just bought a 2012 Audi A4 S-Line Quattro 2 days ago from a VW dealership. Pretty much fell in love with the car as soon as I saw it. (Maybe that was the problem...)

Because Audi can be costly to repair, I bought the extended warranty that the dealer was offering, which they said would kick in after the original factory warranty ends (in 1.5 years). But after reading through the contract today, I realized it is effective from the date of purchase, so it overlaps the factory warranty and I lose 1.5 years of the extended warranty. Good thing is that I can still cancel it within the first 30 days of purchase.

My question is: what kind of extended warranty have you guys bought (I heard Audi Care or Audi After Care)? My extended warranty is through a 3rd party, which after reading a few forums doesn't sound like a good idea. I'd like to hear from everybody's experiences.

Always go directly with the manufacturer (Audi).
It's called Audi After care (after the original warranty), and you can choose different protections.

It could be pricey but is negociable (should have been done with purchase to have more leverage).

Audi after care is enabled after the 4/80km standard warranty.
