Default Is Globali.com registration mandatory?

Is this dealer dependent? Dealers has it pre-listed on the purchase agreement for $500. The way it is listed looks like it's mandatory. Can I opt out of this? Seems like another money grab.

I've seen two cases already where customers had their cars stolen and it paid off for them. What I'm surprised at is the cost, we only charge $175.
You must be in an area where the dealer you're dealing with is the only dealer around.

"...cars stolen..."

Isn't that what insurance is for?
Why get insurance on top of insurance?
Furthermore, does your insurance company give you a break if you get this other policy?

Default Globali - you'd better think twice

No customer who ever purchased Globali aka "Protector Plus" ever received cash. The "warranty" clearly states its a "benefit" of up to $4000 which is given to the dealer you bought the first car from to apply as a credit to your second car should you wish to purchase it from them. If they don't have another vehicle you like then you get nothing or wait till they do. They never give you the cash directly.

Consider this: Police agencies are equipped to search stolen cars buy description (make and model)license plate and vin. They can't and don't use the Globali number on your car. Roy Speed & Ross (owner of Globali) has only one location in Canada, aren't open weekends, holidays and after five on weekdays. Besides having the VIN in 6 different places on your car and approximately 2000 parts with at least 500 hundred of them having an individual part number, date code and manufacturer's stamp who'd need it? The best reason is found in the description of their patent which states "it is an object of the present invention to provide a business method which provides a profit center to automotive dealers"

No, not mandatory, just tell the dealer you don't want it.

It's an extra insurance policy that's a money grab.

Why would anyone pay $500 to maybe get $4000 if your car gets stolen. I don't expect my Audi to get stolen in the first place plus I already have insurance to get a replacement vehicle if something really bad were to happen to my car.

I agree but you don't get the $4000 benefit unless two things happen - you can prove its stolen and its a complete right off - if its fixable you only get about $300 - less than what it cost you. 50 to one odds are considered long shots - in Canada the odds are 63,445 to one your car would be stolen on any given day, even higher if your car is is newer than 10 years old. Most stolen cars in Canada have an average age of 10 years.

Many dealers try to tell you its mandatory since they already have marked the car
