How much for new tires?
Hey guys, I've been searching for a car and I think I'm getting pretty close to making a deal on one, but haven't settled on a price yet.
One thing I want to consider is that the car needs 4 new tires. (B5 A4 1.8T w/sport wheels)(225/60 R 16 H ) pulled that from the Model Guide and I don't know anything about tires so I'm guessing that's what size I'd be looking for?
Anyway, I just want to get an estimate on roughly how much new tires would cost so I can factor it into my price.
Thanks.

i agree with Mr. Ed, i wouldn't say 60 profile,anyway,,,,,
go for a 225/50 or 45/16 if you want to stick to the stock rim. The taller profile of a 55 or 60 will be a more comfortable ride but you'll look like a mini-van driver. 16" tires are cheep too. $100-$150. Just go for a 17" rim and tire package at the tire shop, you want too later anyways.

Thanks for the input.
Of course I'd want to go with 17"s or something but right now I don't have the extra cash handy.
So I figured I'd either offer less (appx. cost of tires) or try and get them to put on some new ones for me for the time being as i'll need to get that done anyway and save myself a bit of money. Maybe the savings could go into the new rims fund.

Stock size should be 205/55-16, wider tires (225) will give you extra rubber, better grip,....
but the profile will be smaller to maintain similar sidewall height, 60 is DEFINITELY too big.
