I need some help..
Last July I gave my parents our 04 A4CVT. Recently the Transmission Control module needed replacing with total km of 39K, together with a Coolant sensor Total bill $2400.00
Upon a written inquiry with Audicare as to their position of taking responsibility for their product, a woman from Audicare called indicating there was nothing Audi would do.The women when asked to confirm the conversation in writing (email or fax) refused to do so. So much for "Audicare", a misnomer if ever I heard one.
A search on this board and with Consumer Report indicates the transmission Control unit especially for the 04 model year was prone to failure, as confirmed by my usual service manager (my parents live one Province away).
This is in fact a safety issue (jumping out of gear, turning the engine off, sudden racing of the engine) that should at the very least be handled with tact considering Audi's reputation in the past, and the low mileage of the vehicle.
This is supposedly a German engineered Audi, not a Lada or Hyundai. Also I'm sure Audi would have done the right thing if this would have happened as part of a long term media evaluation. I've seen this in Auto Motor & Sport long term tests many times where broken major components are replaced under a good will policy.
Now for my question: Does any one have an email address or name within Audi Canada or Audi North America who should be made aware of this absolutely shoddy way my elderly parents have been treated, and who could hopefully rectify the abominable situation.
All I can say for the moment this really is no way to treat customers., so much so that after 6 Audis,(including 2 currently) I'm really questioning my decision to exercise my order on an R8 later this year.
Please excuse the length of this rant, however any suggestions will be appreciated.

If you care about your enderly parents you should get them a Camry or an Accord.
Certainly not an Audi, this is not a car for the faint of heart/wallet. It's certainly not the automotive appliance most people want their cars to be - reliable, predictable, cheap.
