Default OK HERES ANOTHER THREAD ON HID

I'm considering buying a Mchulloch HID set, 8000k
just wondering if anyone had any bad experiences or good ones with it, is it a good kit?

Default I don't have the 8000K kit, but I love mine...

No problems, easy wiring. Awesome lighting difference.

Default Yes, you can...

For example, Supreme Power Parts sell replacement D2S bulbs in 5400K, 6000K, 8000K and 10000K. These are all from a variety of different OEM manufacturers like Phillips, Osram, etc.

Don't go too high, you are getting into very blue/purple territory and will be chancing a ticket. I think the OEM Audi lights are maybe 4000K to 5000K something. Just a guess.

Default Correct. Audi OEM is..

4100-4300K depending on who you talk to.
The higher you go numerically, the further into the blue /purple range of the spectrum and the more light dispersion. ie the light is reflected more so you don't get as much light down the road.
The OEM bulbs put out more lumens because of this.
A lot of folks go for 5000 or 6000K for the bluer 'look' feeling they don't lose all that much in the way of light vs cool.
It depends what you're after in the way of HID lighting.

Default I'm looking for a kit too, but it seems most kits fit non xenon housings. I need (more)

a set that fits xenon housings. I just purchased the housings without bulbs or ballasts. Was going to buy the RS6 kit, but that won't fit without major modifications to the bulb holders in the housings.

Anyone have a good source for OEM bulbs/ballasts? TIA!
