One year in with the B7 2.0 Tip, still burning 1 quart engine oil every ~2200km. Normal?

I know a guy that has a B7 2.0T and eating oil also
I asked him if the car is ever pushed on a regular basis, and no it isn't.

Some believe it some don't... I follow this

Thanks Tanner, great read! I have always been an advocate of this style of break in...
I was once told "if you break it in like your grandma's car it will drive like your grandma's car, break it in hard and you will have a better car". I have book marked that page for future reference.

but is burning that much normal or within specs? or signs of more engine wear?

Not within spec
My last oil change has been quite a while ago and checked the oil in my car and it's still near the full level.
I think if an engine is pampered during break in, the seals don't seat in properly thus the high oil consumption. It used to be where you wouldn't push the engine too hard during breakin because decades ago, the tolerances weren't as good, but nowadays, this isn't the case anymore.
