Rack and pignons just died on me last week end ;( (UrS4 1994) You guys know a good place in the Mtl area to buy a rebuilt or rebuilt the old one?

What are the symptoms? It's pretty rare, I've never heard of this happening...

1 month ago I change the PS pump, after the repair, the PS was not perfect and they told me that the system was contaninated, they had the rack removed and cleaned up with special stuf..but it didn't work...told me that I'll have to rebuilt the rack...this week end I lost all PS on the left side...but still normal on the right, but very hard on the left side...the pignons?
So, that's why I think I need a new rack and pignons...any help?

Sounds very strange... Almost sounds electrical like the steering boost is flaky, or else the pump is bad but if it's ok PS is ok on one side, but not the other then maybe it is the rack... try calling Griffiths and ask them !<ul><li><a href="http://www.griffiths.com/audi/audisteering.htm">http://www.griffiths.com/audi/audisteering.htm</a</li></ul>
