So I'm wondering if anyone can help me figure this out... My dealer says that I'm scheduled to load on July 20th, and I'm due into Halifax on July 29th. He has no other info other than the dates, so I'm relegated to trying to figure it out myself, but I'm hitting a bit of a dead end.
Using the Port of Halifax website as a reference to find RoRo ships arriving around July 29th, I've discovered that there are two RoRo lines arriving in Halifax from German ports:
1) Wallenius Wilhelmsen has a RoRo ship arriving in Halifax, but it's on July 28th, not July 29th. Also, it departs Bremerhaven Germany on July 18th, not July 20th. It departs Zeebrugge Belgium on July 20th. I can't imagine that this would be the ship I'd be on because I wouldn't expect Audi to transport cars to Belgium in order to be loaded onto a ship. Would they?
2) Port of Halifax website shows that Atlantic Container Line ships RoRo cargo and looking at their schedule, it shows that there is a ship that leaves Bremerhaven on July 21st and arrives in Halifax on July 28th. This would be the Kobe Express. The dates and departure points seem more reasonable than Wallenius', but when I look up the Kobe Express' voyage info on ACL's website, it A) shows that there is no RoRo cargo on that voyage, and b) the picture of the Kobe Express shows that it's a container ship, not an RoRo ship. Would Audi stuff cars into containers?!

From what I understand (and this is not official Audi info, just a lot of googling), VW/Audi uses chartered vessels. It looked like my July 16th arrival was a ship not operated by WWL or ACL and it came from Emden, DE. Look for ships that come into the Autoport in Halifax as opposed to the other ports. I found a couple of pics that show a bunch of VWs and Audis lined up in Emden ready to be loaded. If your ship comes July 29th, hopefully it will be delivered within the next 2 weeks.

Picked up my car on 07-27, got an email on 07-18 saying the car was in Halifax and called me on 07-22 to arrange for delivery on 07-27.

How do you make sure they truck Vs rail?
My dealer told me my 2010 A5 will be in Halifax Aug 17th but told me it would be railed.. Is it possible that because I ordered it after shipment from the factory and it is being rerouted to my dealer from the one it was supposed to go to that this is not considered a "Sold Order"?

My car is indeed in Halifax, but I have no idea what boat it was on because the dates on the status update were different than the dates my dealer gave me. Here are the new deets:
Departure Port Arrived 07/10/2009
Ship Loaded 07/21/2009 (wow, 11 days sitting around waiting for a boat!)
Port Arrived 07/31/2009
Rel. to Carrier (Port) 08/07/2009
Rail Load <blank>
Rail Unload 08/17/2009
Dealer Delivered Week of 08/24/2009
These things tend to arrive a couple of weeks early, so hopefully I can expect to see this at the dealer about the week of Aug. 10th, but we'll see what happens.

None of the S4s will be delivered until at least the first or second week of August. There're quite a few at port, but the team of techs from Germany have to randomly inspect them to give them the final. Every time a new model is introduced, it gets thoroughly inspected.
It is safe to say that you'll get your car in about two weeks.
