Returning a car lease, is it AOC or dealer who decides penalties for scratches etc...?

AutoVIN only contacted me 2 months before lease return.
I have appointment scheduled for this Friday.
Question for afretes/jheacock: I have been using my all season rubber matts year round and now can't find my regular matts. How likely am I to get dinged for that?

they wont ding you for that i dont think...assuming they are factory mats.
funny thing is the carpet mats to order cost the same if not more than the rubber ones!
i havent seen anyone get charge for having the ruber mats no.

I found that AutoVin, who does the inspection, was REALLY generous to me...
I had a brilliant black B6 A4 and the hood was peppered with little, little, little picks - I mean it looked like a starry night sky! They put down something like $200 for a repaint. The tires I returned the car with (heheh) were getting on and they charged me $75ish per tire. I kept the car in pretty nice condition, though, and had just cleaned/polished/waxed the week before, so the car looked hot.
The AutoVin guy was really nice and maybe cut me a break cuz he was really impressed with the car. He said that he had never inspected a black car that wasn't completely swirled. And I am not that great of a polisher.
BTW - I think the polish/wax gave me the starfield hood when the polish got into the little chipped areas... gotta figure that one out next car!
