Is there any way to remove the DRL option on the S4? -TIA

... and swap out the Canadian one. The part is up under the dash over the glove box.

By swapping the fog light control module, you would have US spec lighting.

On my 99.5 Canadian A4, DRL is actually two parts. First is the fog lamps, second is the running lights around the car.

Disabling the running lights was a simple task of removing one of the relays in the carrier. Easy.

Disabling the fogs is a bit more involved. Swapping the fog light control with a US spec is a rather expensive prospect (relatively speaking).

I plan on adding a inline relay to the output of the standard FOG relay. Tie this relay with the parking brake warning light circuit and you have exactly what my old 96 VW Golf did. The fogs would operate as normal, unless you have the parking brake pulled up, then they would be disabled.

I have nothing against DRL (it's safer with them on) but I want the ability to turn them off when I'm parked with the engine running.

Please note that by pulling the relay in the first step, my car is now "illegal" to drive with the fogs on.
